Outreach ministries are those services, activities, experiences, and interactions with people in need in the name of Jesus Christ. Usually they extend beyond your own congregation into the community in which you are located. The ministry of Jesus Christ is an outreach ministry. Each of the four Gospels ends with a commission from Christ to His church to carry the Gospel message to the ends of the earth (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-49; John 20:21-23; and see Acts 1:8). Tomah Baptist is a soul-winning church, with a desire to see lost souls saved for the kingdom of God and for His glory.
Strong outreach ministry in the small church usually happens when ministry becomes personal! We have several programs in place to implement the achievement of this worthy goal of winning souls to Christ. Our services are often evangelistic in nature, allowing for unbelievers to hear the Gospel in a clear and succinct manner. They are also given the opportunity to respond at each service. On Monday evenings, church members are given the opportunity to go on door-to-door soul-winning in areas surrounding our church. While results vary from week to week, we have seen God at work as we meet and talk with people in our community.
