For years, the missions have played a vital role worldwide in providing a living example of Christ’s teachings. Tomah Baptist Church is a church that believes in missions. We give a percentage of our offerings to cooperative mission efforts and also include funds for individual missions endeavors in our annual budget.

Our church doesn’t just believe in GIVING to missions though, we believe in DOING missions. We take seriously the command our our Lord in Acts 1:8 where He said, “ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” In fact, we organize our annual mission labors according to this Scriptural outline.

Jerusalem and Judea Missions

We share God’s love and the Gospel message with those that are geographically closest to us with things such as Vacation Bible School, Cantatas, community events, handing out tracts and John/Romans Scriptures, nursing home and veterans hospital ministries, Sunday School and Worship. We also participate in ministry to those in our area who have physical needs with a local food shelf, helping with household or yard needs for our elderly or disabled members.

Samaria Missions

We partner with new church planting in the Continental United States. We are also a part of donating to Hurricane Hope Program, for rebuilding Baptist churches that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Our prison ministry gives us the opportunity to reach out to individuals and families who are affected by the adult and juvenile prison system. 

Uttermost Part of the Earth Missions

In addition to supporting our international missionaries, Tomah Baptist Church has sent individuals and mission teams to Mexico, Chile, Ireland, Scotland and Spain. Those people have led Vacation Bible Schools, done street evangelism, helped build the local churches, and encouraged the pastors and evangelists abroad.

We’re excited about all the opportunities God will give us in the future to join Him in His great work of sharing the Gospel with a lost world, both through our giving and our going!

Whether you are a part of our Ladies Missionary Fellowship Group or have prayed and asked God how much you should give through our Faith Promise Missions Giving Program, volunteered in the Print Shop, or perhaps you are interested in joining us on one of our annual Mission Trips, or praying regularly for some of mission needs and concerns--God is able to use you when you determine to make Missions a priority--at home or abroad.
